Whippet
Breed
Despite
their thin appearances, Whippets possess hearty spirits. Excellent
runners with tremendous speed, they have participated in various
kinds of races over the years. Originally a mix of Greyhound and
a variety of Terriers, the breed reached its present state with
the infusion of Italian Greyhound blood.
Because
of their moderate weight and gentle dispositions, Whippets remain
popular show dogs and pets. They serve as attentive watchdogs,
but will not bark without cause. Although they require regular
exercise, Whippets are loving, kind and adaptable pets, able to
live in a city or the country.
