Bull Terrier
As the name indicates, the Bull Terrier really descended from a
Bulldog and Terrier mix. Once called the "Bull and Terrier,"
the dog's size increased with the addition of Spanish Pointer blood.
In 1860, a purely white-colored dog developed and gained popularity
for its good looks and active personality. Also known as the "white
cavalier," these pOverful dogs could defend themselves, but
rarely initiated a scuffle.
As
pets today, Bull Terriers require firm handling, but possess peppy,
friendly personalities and adapt to many living situations. They
now exist in white or colored varieties and display gentle affection
for children.
