Boxer
The Boxer name refers to the dog's unusual habit of raising its
forelegs and punching like a person. Although English in name, the
dog's German ancestry began with a cross between Bulldogs and Mastiff-type
canines that hunted boar and deer.
Boxers
are intelligent and possess strong, agile physiques. The German
people held these dogs in such high esteem that they worked as the
earliest police assistants. Despite their hunting and police background,
however, Boxers today exhibit playful, docile personalities that
adapt well to families with children.
